The PRB Guide to Your Breast Cancer Journey

PRE-SURGERY

Step 1: Call us to make an appointment and provide your insurance and medical information. We will request the prescription, insurance approvals, etc. and notify you of what your  insurance will cover. That process takes up to two weeks so we generally book your appointment two weeks in advance.

Step 2: Come in for your appointment and get your post surgical camisole. Some surgeons/hospitals have a preferred garment and some will even provide one for you. Many local providers, however, prefer our Amoena Hannah Post-Surgical Camisole:

The Amoena Hannah Post-Surgical Camisole has straps that fasten in the front as well as a zipper for easy access during treatment while recovering your range of motion. Inside is a band that securely holds 2 repositionable drain pouches as well as two fiberfill breast forms. Sizes range from S to 4XL, with cup size options A/B or C/D.

POST-SURGERY

Step 3: After you are fully healed (at least 4 weeks post-surgery or once cleared by your doctor), you will come in for a second appointment (please book accordingly - two weeks is required every time for us to check insurance/medical info)

Step 4: Fitting time! Come in, fill out a patient intake form and then your personal fitter will work with you to pick out bras (without underwire) that fit your lifestyle and needs along with breast prostheses for projection and symmetry.

ABC #103 Bra

Soft Cup Bras have multi-part cups, inner support slings, leotard backs and wide comfort straps to provide structure and support, even for fuller breasts.

Amoena Mara Bra

Molded Cup Bras, often called Tee Shirt Bras, are great options for a smooth look. We have styles for full, average, and shallow busts.

Prosthetic Breast Forms

Silicone and non-silicone breast forms in varying sizes, weights, and coverages provide balance and symmetry.

Custom Breast Forms:

Unique to your size, shape, color, and surgery, a Custom Breast Prosthesis is a non-surgical breast reconstruction option. If you have experienced a surgery such as a full mastectomy, partial mastectomy, lumpectomy, breast conserving surgery, or reconstruction, a custom-made breast prosthesis may be right for you! They can be worn in a non-pocketed bra, against the chest wall, and during swimming, running, and other exercises! For more info on custom breast prostheses, click here.

Step 5: At the end of  your fitting, you will sign a ticket at checkout that then allows us to submit the claim to your insurance. If you owe any co-insurance, you will pay at that time. You will then leave with your items that same day.

Step 6: Go out into the world and look fabulous! You will be due for products through your insurance one year from your appointment (“date of service”). Feel free to reach out anytime if you ever need anything or have any questions!
